The Head Stage 3 ball is significantly softer, larger and 75% slower than standard tennis balls, giving the child more time to react and making it much easier to hit the ball. The two-tone red and yellow colour makes it easier to spot. Mainly used for play on a small ITF court measuring 11 m x 5-6 m.
Approved by ITF, the ball is part of the Head Tennis Instruction Program (STAGE).

Cooperating with the ITF (International Tennis Federation) as part of the "Tennis...Play and Stay" campaign, Head has developed a new T.I.P. programme (Tennis Instruction Programme) - an innovative system supporting the learning of tennis. According to the T.I.P. assumptions, a beginner should be able to serve, hit with confidence and score points during their very first lesson, which thereby becomes a positive and encouraging introduction to further learning. The T.I.P. programme supports this concept by providing rackets and balls suitable for every level of tennis learning.
