The Head Stage 1 ball is softer, larger, and 25% slower than standard tennis balls, giving the child more time to react and allowing them to better control and more comfortably develop their strokes. Designed to be played on a standard-sized court. ITF approved, the ball is part of the Head Tennis Instruction Program (STAGE).

Collaborating with the ITF (International Tennis Federation) as part of the "Tennis...Play and Stay" campaign, Head has developed a new programme called T.I.P. (Tennis Instruction Programme) – an innovative system supporting the learning of tennis. In line with the T.I.P. principles, a beginner should be able to serve, strike confidently and score points during their very first lesson, making it a positive and encouraging introduction to further learning. The T.I.P. programme supports this concept by providing rackets and balls suitable for every stage of learning the game of tennis.
