The Head Stage 1 ball is softer, larger, and 25% slower than standard tennis balls, giving the child more time to react and allowing for better control and more comfortable stroke development. Designed for play on a standard-sized court. ITF approved, the ball is part of the Head Tennis Instruction Program (STAGE).

Cooperating with ITF (International Tennis Federation) as part of the "Tennis...Play and Stay" campaign, Head has developed a new T.I.P. programme (Tennis Instruction Programme) - an innovative system supporting the learning of tennis. According to T.I.P. assumptions, a beginner should be able to serve, confidently strike the ball and win points already during the first lesson, which thereby becomes a positive and encouraging introduction to further learning. The T.I.P. programme supports this concept by providing rackets and balls appropriate for each level of tennis learning.
