It is said that "ideals do not exist" - we do not share this opinion! Those who say so simply haven't met their ideal yet. We at the Tennis Zone firmly believe that the ideal sport is tennis and that we have the perfect range of outfits for it. And when it comes to women's outfits - the basis is a sports bra - absolutely essential for health as well as beauty. We will help you find the perfect one!
What kind of bra to choose for tennis?
Before you go shopping or sit down in front of the computer and start adding colorful bras and tops to your shopping cart, you need to answer one very important question: which bra will be suitable for tennis? Now we will not describe all the specifics of this wonderful sport, we will only focus on the most important statement: tennis is a very dynamic sport, so you need a bra with adequate support.
A sports bra plays practically the same role as a traditional bra. It is responsible for supporting and protecting the bust, but sports models perform these functions much more effectively. Thanks to its special design and reinforcements, a sports bra ensures that the breasts are held in one place, thus minimizing their movement during tennis. When performing vigorous movements such as running or jumping, the breasts are constantly under the influence of gravity. During play, the force of gravity is even stronger, which is felt even more strongly in the case of large breasts. Such loads weaken the system of ligaments and fascias, which are quite cohesive and strong, but unfortunately flexible and prone to stretching. As a result, over time the breasts begin to droop, and with exertion and lack of proper support, this can happen much faster. Therefore, playing tennis without a sports bra or in an ordinary "everyday" bra will negatively affect the condition of the breasts and the entire figure.
What kind of breasts do I have?
Contrary to popular belief, this is not a silly question at all. Every bra, and especially sports bras, must be perfectly sized to perform their functions properly. To properly fit a bra to your figure, you need to take two necessary measurements in advance at strategic points on your chest:
- Circumference around the body just below the breasts - keep in mind that a sports bra should be a little tighter than the one you wear every day, so the result you get should be rounded down slightly.
- Circumference in the bust, that is, the selection of the cup - in this case, the measurement is taken at the height of the nipples, but here the centimeter must not be too close to the body, the measurement is taken on a slight inhalation. The cup of a sports bra should cover the entire breast and adhere well to the body, but at the same time it must not cause excessive pressure reducing freedom of movement.
It is worth remembering that due to the elasticity of the material, you may find that you need a smaller size than the measurements and calculations indicate. Optimally, you should be able to try on several models, make a few jumpers and see which one will be best. The first sign that you have the right size is that the band under the bust is at the same level all the time, not riding up during movement. This is very important because nearly 80% of the weight of the breasts is held at the girth.
Another important issue is the proper selection of cups - they should surround the breasts completely, limiting their movement. If they wrinkle or stand out, it means that they are too big. If you feel too much pressure or even problems with free breathing - the cups are too tight.
The next thing is the straps - first of all, they should not dig into the skin. Definitely better will be those wide, less elastic and adjustable, as they will hold even a larger bust more effectively.
What kind of bra is perfect for me?
Once you know your measurements perfectly, you can proceed to make your choice. We will not deny - in the Tennis Zone the choice of sports bras is overwhelming! For this reason, we will not focus on colors or cuts now, because these are matters of individual taste, and besides, from the multiplicity of designs we ourselves will get dizzy! It is enough to say that we offer models in probably every possible color scheme to suit every style and mood: from classic, single-colored, through energetic combinations of contrasting colors, to absolutely original and sexy prints! As we mentioned at the beginning: ideals do exist and you can get them with us!
In the sportswear industry, three basic types of bras are adopted - depending on the support they offer:
- compression bra - this type of bra is designed for ladies with smaller breasts. This type of bra looks more like a regular top and presses both breasts together against the chest. It is ideal for women who have A or B cups. Bras of this type usually have no adjustability and provide light support (low support). They are offered by many reputable companies, such as: Nike, Calvin Klein or Björn Borg:
- encapsulated compression bra - sports bra with separate cups will be a great solution not only for women with larger breasts, but also for those who play more intensively. This type of bra also "presses" the breasts against the chest, but thanks to two separate cups, each breast is supported separately - it is distinguished by the fact that it covers each breast separately, which provides better stiffening and stabilization (medium support). In this category, again, the best models have Calvin Klein, but we also recommend Lacoste, Rebook and Adidas:
- adjustable encapsulated compression bra - this type also has separate padding for each breast, but in addition to this it has the added reinforcement of an adjustable wide band giving even more support. This type works on a similar principle as the aforementioned bra with separate cups, but thanks to the adjustable band under the breasts it provides even more stability for the breasts. This option may prove most advantageous for women with generous breasts (high support). We suggest bras with very good support from Under Armour, Calvin Klein and Björn Borg:
Please remember that an ill-fitting bra causes discomfort, and can also cause back pain and posture changes. All these problems can be prevented by taking care of proper bust support during physical activity, with the help of a professional sports bra selected in our store. In stationary stores we offer advice, and in the online store we heartily encourage you to carefully read the descriptions of our products - we do our best to make sure you find your sports ideals!
