If we have already chosen the right tennis school or a great coach and our child can't wait to start his tennis adventure, it's time to complete the necessary outfit. Who thinks that the outfit does not matter much – is wrong. You should think carefully about how to dress your child for practice and after practice. The right outfit will make our kid feel comfortable on the court and will certainly contribute to her sporting success!
Freedom is the key
The basic principle that we should keep in mind when thinking about how to help our child choose a tennis outfit is freedom of movement. The clothing must not in any way restrain fast strokes and any maneuvering of the body. This is important, because tight shirts, shorts or skirts significantly reduce the comfort and enjoyment of the game.
Color, cut or pattern is, of course, a matter of personal preference for our child, but it is worth paying attention to the quality of the fabrics. Clothes made of synthetic fabrics will work best: they are lightweight and durable. Unlike natural materials, such as cotton, synthetic fabrics allow proper airflow and wick away virtually all moisture and sweat to the outside.
Tennis clothes, especially during the summer season, when classes and training will be held outdoors, should be light in color. This will prevent the clothing from attracting the sun's rays and will heat up more slowly - it will definitely be more pleasant and lighter for the child! We recommend our selection of shirts, tops and t-shirts - we are sure that every young player will find something to his (her) taste!
For the lower part of the clothing, let's also keep in mind comfort and freedom of movement. As with shirts in the summer season, remember that it is better to choose short shorts or skirts in light colors made of synthetic materials. Here it will also be important to have a good fit, with fit not to be confused with tight shorts that restrict movement during the game.
Tennis is a game suitable for all seasons. So if our child likes this wonderful sport, he will probably also play more than one practice in colder weather, or in an un-air-conditioned hall. So it is necessary to think about buying a sweatshirt or tracksuit made of a mixture of natural and synthetic materials, which are better permeable to air and provide adequate ventilation. Of course, when choosing a tracksuit, remember that the tracksuit should protect against the cold and wind, while the synthetic material allows you to maintain the correct body temperature.
It is best to stick to the rule that the clothes should be made of good quality material and must not restrict the movements of our child. Our offer includes not only excellent quality sweatshirts and tracksuits, but also long pants and leggings. They will prove perfect for colder days and after training!
Thermal comfort
We should also remember that the child should not be dressed too warmly during training. He or she should also not leave training without changing into a warmer outfit or, even less, undressing. Especially in autumn, winter and early spring, as this can be a source of cold.
During sunny days, it is a good idea to persuade your child to wear a baseball cap. This will provide protection from the sun and also make it easier for him to play in glaring sunshine. In addition, if our child practices a lot, we can consider making it easier for him to play with a wristband. It can help him if he wants to wipe his sweaty forehead or hand. What is more, it will additionally stiffen the wrist, which is particularly prone to injury while playing tennis.
In winter, there is a particular need to look after children, who are not always able to express their needs accurately or tell of the inconveniences that bother them. Youngsters are known for their inexhaustible activity, which does not diminish at all in winter. Therefore, whether they play sport or not, you should buy them suitable sports clothing for this time, bearing in mind that you must not dress your child as warmly as yourself. Children are much more active than adults and dressing too warmly can cause negative effects. Increased sweating and subsequent cooling of the body can easily cause illness.
Little things on which a lot depends
For children, the most important thing is to have fun - so it's no wonder that sometimes they are just careless. In order not to restrict their freedom with orders and prohibitions on caring for clothes, it is better to choose those made of durable materials. These include, for example, nylon, lycra or polartec. We encourage you to ask questions to our consultants and read the descriptions on the website - all our products are carefully described. It is enough to carefully read the description of the clothing you choose, so you can rest assured that it will not get damaged during the first children's games.
Important issues, which are not so obvious at all, can prevail over the quality of clothing. For example, it would be good if the sleeves of the outer garments had welts. Let's pay attention to the fact that shorts should have pockets. As for a girl's clothing, it is worth remembering that the skirt should be neither too tight nor too loose.
In our offer we have ready-made collections, in which you will find plenty of beautiful ready-made sets of the type: shirt and shorts or shirt and skirt. The selection of children's clothing is so large with us that you can easily complete your own original sets as well - you can choose from children's patterns, but also dress up like our kid's beloved idol! Or have a T-shirt in the same pattern as dad or mum...
Properly selected shoes
We should pay special attention to properly selected shoes. First of all, they should provide support for the ankles, which are particularly stressed during the game. In addition, they must be comfortable, light and soft, well-fitting to the feet.
It is worth matching the type of footwear to the court. Footwear designed for ground courts has a deep tread, which allows you to perform slides and maintain balance during sudden movements. Rounded edges, on the other hand, do not cause deep marks in the brick flour. On the other hand, shoes designed for indoor play and hard courts have a flat sole for better grip on such surfaces. All of the manufacturers whose shoes we offer include information on which surface a particular model will perform best.
In addition to appropriate footwear, let's also remember about socks. The optimal solution will be socks made of a combination of cotton and synthetic materials, which provide comfort both in everyday use and during sports activities. We offer socks with a small addition of elastane, thanks to which the socks optimally fit the foot, without compressing or shifting.
Last but not least, we would like to mention our collection of junior tennis bags and backpacks that can fit racquets, change clothes, shoes and all the essentials! Learning to pack for the court is a great lesson in responsibility and adulthood for your child - and a fun bag in favorite color will make it another pleasure - not a duty!
