The twelfth update of the iconic Air Zoom Vapor footwear series was carried out based on feedback from both professional and amateur players, taking into account shoe wear data using Holger Rune as a case study. The refined upper made from high-density mesh provides very good breathability, while cast polyurethane reinforcements in key areas shield the points most prone to abrasion on the inside and around the toes without adding weight. A solid plate surrounding the midfoot area superbly supports the foot, ensuring confidence during sudden slides, turns and directional changes. An internal sock extending halfway up the upper improves the fit and additionally stabilises the foot laterally. The use of the renowned ZOOM AIR gas cushion under the heel provides the highest level of cushioning with rebound dynamics and responsiveness into the next step. The special CLAYBREAKER outsole tread, designed with pressure mapping and analysis of the areas where the most clay accumulates, delivers excellent grip on clay courts and limits clogging from debris.
