A tennis skirt is a women's sports skirt made from breathable, lightweight materials to provide maximum comfort and freedom of movement on the tennis court. Generally speaking, tennis skirts are short, varying in length from 30 to 40 cm, they are usually flared at the bottom and have pleats, ruffles or pleats so as not to restrict movement. Tennis skirts nowadays come with built-in shorts for coverage and functionality.
What should guide the right choice of tennis skirt?
When choosing a tennis skirt, it is worth considering not only the material, length and style of the skirt, but also whether it will be used exclusively on or off the court. Here are some tips to help you choose:
1. length: a tennis skirt is a mini skirt, usually with a low rise about 15 cm above the knees. You can opt for a high-waisted tennis skirt with a wider elastic waistband, which will reach higher on the waist (up to the belly button).
2. material: look for tennis skirts with an elasticated waistband. For sporty use on court, choose a tennis skirt made of breathable material. Tennis skirts made of cotton or cotton blend will be more suitable for casual wear.
Style 3: It's worth remembering that A-line skirts (so-called trapeze skirts) mask wide hips, which can be used especially for off-court wear. Pleated tennis skirts, or skirts with ruffles, provide maximum mobility - which in turn counts during play. However, it is worth remembering that pleated mini skirts are both practical sportswear and stylish everyday wear.
4 Colour: The traditional colour of the tennis skirt is white, in all its shades. It is also by far the most practical colour for summer, but unfortunately it is the most susceptible to staining on the predominantly brick courts in Poland. On a day-to-day basis, however, it works well as a base for elegant, classic styling.
The above is just a guideline - when choosing a tennis skirt, be guided by your taste and feelings - your skirt should appeal to you first and foremost!
Who can wear tennis skirts?
The answer to this question is simple: everyone! The tennis style, with its classic cuts and styles, suits every figure. Literally all women look great in tennis skirts: regardless of whether they have the figure of a sportswoman or not. However, ladies with wide hips should prefer trapeze styles so as not to widen their figure further.
Tennis skirts off the court
Modern tennis skirts are not only comfortable but also very chic and can be worn off court. They form an excellent base for styling that suits many occasions - more or less formal.
With a white tennis skirt you can easily create a white total look. Pair it with a white T-shirt and sneakers to create the perfect warm-weather outfit that highlights your tanned skin.
Pair the tennis skirt with a loose-fitting top, waistcoat or jacket for a cooler season. Depending on which top you choose, the look can be more or less formal: from the schoolgirl look to the chic club look. But either way, it will be a set that adds a lot of charm to its owner. In our range you will find matching sweatshirts, tennis polos, tennis t-shirts and jackets for women's skirts.
