History of Diadora
Diadora was founded in 1948 in Caerano di San Marco, which is now the world's leading area for the production of sports shoes. The company's headquarters was initially a small workshop that made work and hiking shoes by hand. The early 1960s saw a breakthrough when Diadora began producing sports shoes. The acquisition of several significant patents in the United States contributed to the rapid growth of the brand. From the beginning, the Italian brand stood out for its top quality and cutting-edge solutions.
Brand development
As professional sports gained momentum in the 1970s, Diadora decided to partner with famous and prominent athletes. Björn Borg, a multiple Wimbledon winner, performed on the world's tennis courts in Diadora brand shoes, and Roberto Bettega found success on the football fields. Diadora was one of the first companies to think that famous athletes would be the best way to sell products.
In the following years, the Italian brand continued to sponsor tennis players and established partnerships with two outstanding champions, they were: Jim Courier and Boris Becker.
The company is now beginning to implement a series of responsible changes to its industrial practices to reduce its carbon footprint. This ranges from tracking overseas suppliers to switching to more sustainable forms of energy to power its factories.
